Steve Websdale, Venture Structured Finance Managing Director, says: This year, Venture celebrates its 20th year, in that time we’ve helped businesses through crisis such as the 1991/2 recession as well as positive changes such as mergers and acquisitions. It is going to be an unpredictable 12 months for many UK businesses, but with these appointments, along with our already talented team, we have the individuals in place to help our clients come through the other side of the economic cloud.”
Paul Russell
Paul Russell joins Venture Finance with over 35 years of commercial finance experience, including seven years as a Corporate Relationship Manager at the Bank of Scotland. With his high-level relationship management expertise, Paul is looking forward to supporting clients through the current difficult economic conditions and challenging times.
Paul comments: “The UK’s businesses are under pressure more than ever. In order to survive, it is essential for our clients to have solid support from trusted partners. Survival of a business can often depend on a pre-emptive anticipation of change, something that is enabled by having the low client to relationship manager ratios that Venture pride themselves on. The close and regular contact between client and portfolio managers is also essential to helping them achieve, stability, growth or a successful turnaround situation. I’m looking forward to drawing on my experiences and knowledge to help drive Venture and our clients successfully into 2008.”
Nick Johnson
Nick Johnson joins after 11 years at GMAC Commercial Finance, where he previously managed the Commercial Finance portfolio team. With banking experience in both the retail and commercial sector, Nick also played an instrumental role in managing the portfolio recovery team at Alliance & Leicester Building Society where he was responsible for underwriting large syndicated transactions.
Nick comments: “Despite the difficult economic climate, there are still deals to be done between realistic parties and ABL can often provide a lifeline where traditional funding cannot. Venture Structured Finance is committed to providing dedicated, swift support in these challenging and fast moving times.
It’s a commitment that Venture and I have in common and I’m looking forward to being part of the team and assisting UK business through these recessive conditions.”
